Are you a new online business coach? Or maybe you’ve had an online service-based business and are just now getting into coaching (similar to my story a few years ago)? Even if you’ve been in the online space for a while and you are in the middle of pivoting or want to attract a brand new “fresh” audience, this is the funnel for you!
The FRESH Funnel:
A “Fresh” funnel is for those that either don’t have an audience at all, or has one, but it’s not their ideal client. This is a great funnel when you are also brand new to the online space, or you are pivoting in your business.
What does the funnel look like?
With a fresh (aka colder audience) funnel, you want to focus more on getting people into your email list. I would avoid the objective of likes or followers, as true value comes with an exchange of some sort, and in this case, it’s an email and a first name.
A good “fresh funnel” would flow something like this: Freebie – Thank you page – call to action – email welcome sequence.
QUICK TIP: If you wanted to, you could also add a tripwire page (upsell) after the initial opt in! Typically this is a very low ticket offer (think about $3-15).
What kind of Freebie?
Freebies (aka Opt ins) can be various things, but from my experience, and from what I see in the market and with my clients, the ones that tend to work the very best are:
- Prompts (social, journal, etc)
Why these three opt ins? My best guess is that they are easy, quick and tangible wins for the ideal client that make something easier to do, understand and put into practice.
The other plus about these types of opt ins/freebies, is that they are affordable to generate leads to. They also work very well on an organic level when shared enough.
How do you target your ideal client into your Fresh Funnel?
First, you want to nail down who you ideal client is and know them like the back of your hand!
I highly suggest market research too! You want to know their pain points, pleasure points, lifestyle, hopes, wishes, dreams and obstacles. Solve even a single problem of theirs, and you will have them flocking!
Once you have that ideal customer nailed down, give “her” a name, and anytime you post, blog, go live, etc. speak to “HER” and her only! This will help keep you focused and on track with your messaging and goals.
How long should you run this type of funnel?
Short answer, all the time! You always want to be perfecting your colder audience and lead generation isn’t something you ever want to shut off. Keep them rolling into your email list, and then nurture them in their inbox!
As you continue to build up your cold audience, leads will multiple! Even when your list is small, email them, and consider it an advantage too. With a smaller audience, you are more available to connect with your warmest leads on a more personable level, and this can do wonders for potential sales and allow your leads to feel as cared for as you want them to feel, making you stand out from competitors.
